Port Eynon is the most southerly point of the Gower peninsula and surrounded by stunning coast and countryside vistas – there is nothing like the view over the village with the sea stretching to the horizon as you begin your descent down into Port Eynon via the winding lane. The former fishing village is a popular beach resort and although there is no port as the name suggests, it was once dominated by oyster fishing and the remains of the oyster pools and old harbour can be seen at low tide.
The Blue Flag beach is backed by magnificent sand dunes to stretch your legs. Walking to the west, the Salt House ruins at the headland are a favourite walking destination and were once used by smugglers, whilst to the east you will find Horton or for those with more energy the beach provides direct access to the coastal path.
